resources for schools undertaking National Curriculum work in the
areas of history, cultural heritage, environmental geography, English,
art, design and technology. Our range of hands-on, award winning
educational activities offer pupils a variety of special activities
designed to bring the past alive and complement classroom work.

Vikings at Down County Museum
How to Book Visits
All school visits must be pre-booked through the museum's education
department. Contact the Community Education Officer or Education
Assistant to book visits or to discuss your group's needs.

Opening Hours & Facilities
The museum is open on Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, and on
Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. Teachers and other adults
in charge of visits will have the responsibility for the pupils
during their visit to the museum.
There is a mobile classroom on the museum site, which can be used
as a lunchroom, this seats up to a maximum of 50 children. Please
book the use of this facility in advance.
