If one object could be used to illustrate life in the
mid 19th century, it is the Ballybrannagh
Quilt, which includes pictures of domestic life, farming, boats,
train, a hunt and a Procession in Belfast. But the collection includes
a wealth of items which relate to education, health, work, politics,
war and religion from this period. We also have a range of photographs
which give a greater insight into the lives of ordinary people.
