1798 - 1803

This was a pivotal time in the history of our county, as in Ireland generally and indeed in Europe. Some of the most significant items in our collection relate to the 1798 and 1803 Risings. This is especially appropriate since the most important prisoner held in the gaol here was probably Thomas Russell.
